How to Installing & Set Up a dreambox Satellite Receiver

Knowing how to set up and install your own satellite receiver is extremely important if you subscribe to a satellite provider and want to reorganize your room, or if you are installing your own free-to-air satellite dish. Connecting the satellite receiver to your television is just like hooking up a cable receiver or digital to analog converter box and you only need a few cables to perform the entire hook up.




Instructions

Find the coaxial cable running into your home. This comes directly from the satellite dish. Connect the coaxial cable into the "In" port on the back of the receiver. Make sure the cable screws on tightly to ensure a complete and secure connection.

Plug the red, white and yellow RCA cables into the "Video Out" ports on the receiver. Make sure the cables match the same colors as the connection ports. The red and white cables control the audio signal while the yellow cable provides the video signal.

Insert the other ends of the cables into the "Video In" ports on the television. Like with the receiver you want to make sure the cables are inserted into the same colored ports.

Power on the television and the cable receiver. Push "Video" on either the TV or the TV's remote control and the satellite programming appears on the screen. Change the channel of the satellite programming by using the satellite receiver's remote control.
