Plug one end of your digital coaxial or optical cable into your satellite receiver's coaxial/optical output port. These ports are located in the "Audio" section of the back panel and are labeled.

Connect the other end of the coaxial or optical cable to your surround sound system's digital "Coaxial/Optical Input" port. Turn on your surround sound system, and then switch the input mode to "Coaxial" or "Optical," depending on the connection you used.

Turn on your TV and satellite receiver. Your satellite receiver now transmits surround sound audio to your surround sound system.
